I'm so impatient!

Since DH and I found out SOOOO early that we were pregnant (12 dpo), I am getting really impatient and cranky! My mw prefers not to see patients before 8 wks, and the closest appt. I could get is at 9.5 weeks (March 27)! I really want the pregnancy to be "confirmed", and I would REALLY like to see a little heartbeat. I keep hearing you guys talk about progesterone levels and hcg levels--is that something your ob/mw does, and should I have it done since my sister required progesterone supplementation? Do your obs/mws require an 8 wk waiting period...is it standard? As I mentioned before....I'M IMPATIENT!!!

I am impatient too. I found out at 12dpo as well and will be 6 weeks on Thursday, so I also have awhile till I'll be seen. It will all be here before we know it!

I also found out at 13 DPO, and I felt left out of the hCg clique, too. What I found out was that if you hadn't had previous m/c or trouble getting pg, then they don't do that sort of testing routinely.

I went in at 5w2d to "fill out paperwork" and "meet my midwife". Basically she did the whole medical history, family history stuff, and she confirmed the pregnancy with a urine test. She did do a brief pelvic exam to make sure the uterus was about the right size, but other than that it was a question and answer session b/c I was just meeting her.

You probably wouldn't be able to see the hb any earlier than 6-8 weeks anyway - even though I know you would love to get in there earlier. You might not see anything anyway, and depending on your insurance, they might not cover having multiple u/s.

My advice? Enjoy these weeks instead of trying to rush them by. I'm 100% guilty of trying to rush these early weeks by, too, but I'm doing my best to enjoy being 8 weeks pregnant -- without saying "almost 9 weeks" too often!!!

I wasn't going to have an appointment before 8 weeks, but my allergies are acting up, and I don't know if I can continue to use my allergy meds or not, since they're not something I was taking last time I was pg. So I made an appointment for tomorrow, which is not quite 6 weeks, just to ask about my allergy meds. I remember with my first pg I was all excited, made an appointment with my dog right away, and she basically said "well, if you POAS and you got positive, you're pg, congrats". And I was like "surely there's more?". So she sent me for bloodtests I think just to make me happy!

I found out at 9 DPO. Hindsight, that's not the best idea. It makes the wait soooo long!!!

I know what you mean. It's agony!

It is normal not to be seen until at least 8 weeks (8 - 12 is the normal 1st appt.) and I know how agonizing it can be to wait but... thats how it goes unfortunately! Good luck

Another 12dpo POASer here! I totally know how you are all feeling! Dh thinks time is flying by (Wow! 6 weeks already?!?) and I think it's crawling (Only 6 weeks?!?).

I'm interviewing a midwife next Thursday (7 wks, 1 day), so I think it's totally normal to start visits at about that time. There's really not much they can do or say other than eat healthy at this point. While I'd like to be further along with some more tangible sign of being pregnant (just cause it seems exciting), I'm not in a hurry to start prenatal care. And I'm trying hard not to say "almost such and such weeks" too Baby_Cakes!!

I understand where you're coming from. I felt the same way with DD...wanted to go to the doctor RIGHT NOW (like at 4 weeks), have an early ultrasound, etc. If it's any consulation, right around the second trimester the appointments were like drugery to me. I remember taking half a day off work, driving two hours to the doctor, just to pee in a cup, have them measure me and do the doppler. It's like, "Yep, you're still pregnant."
I know that probably doesn't help now!
