Traveling with infants on plane ?

Does anyone know if you are allowed to travel with infant twins on your lap. I already have tickets booked for DD (will be almost 4 when we travel) & myself to fly back home - There is a very strong possibility we will have 4.5month old twins living with us as foster babies at the time now. DD has her own seat. Do you think they will let me fly w/ 2 on my lap - I know its crazy & I might go nuts but I honestly think I could handle it. LOL Just do they allow it? I don't really want to buy tickets for the.

I'm pretty positive they won't. One child, yes. Both, no. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure you are only allowed one lap baby per traveling adult - but you might want to check with the airline to make sure. What they will probably require is that you buy a seat for one of the babies.

You're only allowed one lap baby per adult seat, due to the number of oxygen masks in each row. A friend of mine is a flight attendant and explained it to me - in the event of the cabin losing pressure or an emergency, they need to have each child attended by one adult.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'll be cancelling my trip - or possibly driving which will add a couple days to the trip. But honestly I think I could fly easier with the 3 than drive across country by myself with them all!

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can take foster children with you on vacation. They have to go into another foster home, right?

We were told we could - we just have to get approval and our agency said it wouldn't be an issue. We would have more of an issue if we didn't take them since our vacation is longer than 10days.

not only that, but on my last flight, 2 parents with 2 small children, weren't allowed to have 2 lap children in the same row. So it's more each row only has 1 extra oxygen mask. An adult can travel with more than one infant you would just need to buy a seat for one. Some airlines give a discount if you buy a seat for an infant.

Airlines often offer tickets at half-price for children under 2, so it still may be affordable for you to go and take the babies with you. They're definitely safer in a proper infant seat if anything goes wrong!
