Yup, it's good. It's just glass. we use it to store food and to bake in.

pyrex is awesome!!!

The only thing potentially "unsafe" about it is the risk of it breaking if it's dropped too many times- and even then, it's likely to break into a few small pieces, not shatter into a million tiny shards.

It's good stuff. I have several pyrex baking dishes (well, a knock off brand actually) and a couple of real pyrex measuring cups.

Pyrex is safe although there was a thread in here a bit ago about it getting too hot and shattering into a million tiny shards. Apparantly, this is a fairly common problem with pyrex.

I have two plani pyrex bowls I got 14 years ago when I got married. I also inherited DH's grandmas' set of colored nesting pyrex bowls (4). These 6 bowls were my entire collection until last week. I got to thinking that the colored bowls were almost 40 years old. At least. They were red, yellow, blue & green. This is only on the outside, but I got worried about lead in the paint. I was afraid I would hold the bowl & transfer the lead elsewhere. I got 2 new bowls to replace them. One is ceramic & one is a large glass measuring cup looking bowl with a handle. I LOVE IT!! It looks so old fashioned. I use it everyday now. I put grandmas' up. What do you guys think, was there reason for concern?
