To Frog or Not To Frog

I have a wool sweater that I'm very sentimentally attached to. It was a gift from my brother but unfortunately, it really doesn't fit anymore, not sure it ever actually fit right

So I'm trying to decide the best way to get the most use out of it. It looks like it would frog okay - its very slightly fulled but not felted. I would end up crocheting a small wrap or soaker out of it. Otherwise, I was thinking I'd save it for a little and make bum sweater longies for my baby when he/she is older (its a light blue color that would be fine on a girl or boy). I kinda need newborn/small covers though...

This would not be a hard decision if I weren't so attached to it.. any advice?

If it's at all fulled/felted, I don't think it will frog well. The whole effect of fulling is to get the fibers to interlock with one another, hence making it hard to separate the individual stitches.

Sorry...but you're probably better off making the longies. Why not just make them newborn size?
