Sawing Logs - Anyone else snoring like crazy??

Ok - we are in week 36 now and my husband is telling me I am snoring - A LOT. I had a deviated septum years ago - had the surgery to have it fixed which helped for a long time. And now it is bad again. My husband is freaking out b/c he says it keeps sounding like I stop breathing (like sleep Apnea) and he is worried. A few nights he had to go sleep in the other room. I feel soooo guilty. I tried using a Breathe Right strip last night and he said that helped. During the day I have a air purifier running in the bedroom and at night I have a humidifier going. I am sure this is not helping me to sleep (when combined with the 1000 potty trips). Also, sleep apnea is scary so that is a worry as well. Any advice, suggestions, etc?

I also notice I snort sometimes when trying to breathe normally during the day. Just a little embarassing...but what is one more indignity of pregnancy right?

Have you talked to your doctor or midwife about this? Snoring would be annoying to your dh, but actual sleep apnea is indeed scary. And you're right, it sure wouldn't help you be getting a decent amount of rest. It might be good to see if there's something else that can be done - something to help reduce swollen nasal tissue, maybe?

I have been snoring a lot too for the last month. i actually sometimes wake myself up. however in the last week i have been sleeping a bit propped up to help with reflux and i think i am snoring less.

Another snorer here!

It is sometimes waking me up as well. My husband is sort of amazed at it. It is wrong that I feel just a little bit of comfort thinking he is getting payback?

Snoring here too... And yes, it *IS* payback to dh who snored for years before getting on a CPAP for apnea.

FWIW, if you have apnea all of a sudden because you're now snoring, etc. you would know because you'd be absolutely dragging tired. Snoring doesn't cause apnea, it can just help you identify it because the snoring gets interrupted by the lapse in breathing. I wouldn't worry too much about apnea unless you htink its possible you have it independent of this pregnancy. It does put a strain on the heart, etc. but it takes quite some time for it to strain the heart enough to cause a heart attack, etc.
Try not to worry mama.

I had to laugh when I saw this post.

DH told me last night he thought I was in labor because I was moaning/snoring sooo loud!!! hahaha I can just feel my nose swollen and have woke myself up with a loud snort several times~ I look at it as pay back too........DH snores like crazy if he's on his back and I usually have to tell him to lay on his side to get him to stop.

It will be nice to be done with this pregnancy and finally get some real sleep!!! Well, wishful dreaming right?? Maybe I'll be blessed with the laid back 8 hours a night sleeping baby!!! One can always dream!

Happy Snoring!!
