These links are great. Social stories are a new concept I am just learning about. My son has sensory issues and an anxiety disorder, and I have been thinking that social stories might be helpful. I'm not sure about how to use them with him. Can anyone advise me on that? I just printed out the one about saying "hi". He saw it coming out of the printer and asked what it was so I read it to him. It's about saying hi to your family, friends, teacher, and when meeting new people. I read it and he just starting using his growling voice that he gets when he feelings uncomfortable in social situations and said, "I don't say hi to people! And I don't say good-night either!"
I'm curious about the books a couple of you mentioned. Do you put pictures with them?

I am putting mine with pictures. I just bought a small binder and I read him the stories whenever he seems interested or before we are going to do one of the stories, like bedtime. We are working hard on pooping in the potty and staying in bed at night.

I'm working on doing a schedule board with laminated pecs and velcro board. I think this will help my dd with routines and also knowing what is going on.

I was thinking of using the pecs for social stories too. I'm including pictures of her for these too. I was thinking about using a photo album or those protector sheets for the social stories.

I was *just* about to start a thread asking for resources! Thanks so much, guys!

We only have one social story and have only used picture boards for feeding therapy and wow... have we seen a difference! I'm currently making my own and finding out its a ton of work!
