Ack! Did I just ruin my play silks?

So, I went all in and ordered a bunch of play silk blanks from Dharma and some acid dyes. They arrived today, and of course after DS went to bed, I had to play with them. I dyed a few green, but forgot to add vinegar. Did I totally ruin them? They are in the pots on the stove cooling right now.

Tell me I didn't just ruin my silks and waste about an hour of my time.

Remove the silks from the pot. Wash and rinse them thoroughly and redo the dye process. Of course add the vinegar this time

Ok, after rinsing them in cold, then very hot water, and also washing them in my washer on hot, they are very color fast, and beautiful! They are the most gorgeous brilliant kelly green!! Woo Hoo!! I am so excited!

I will definitely try next time with vinegar, but for this batch, I am not going to re-do them, as they are beautiful as is.
