update: River is here! Was: So close, but pneumonia!

Update: Thanks to all for their healing energy!

River Kai was born last night 3/5 at home in a birthing spa after only an hour and 26 min labor. I believe if he came any sooner I wouldn't have been well enough to push him out.

I still have one more day of antibiotics...I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get thrush.

I appreciate all of you!

Two weeks ago I came down with the flu and it just wouldn't go away. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and found out that I now have pneumonia!

I am due 3/10 and I am planning on a homebirth.

I hope that baby River can hold off until I can get better and birth him/her the way I want to. Right now my lungs hurt so bad that there is no way I could push a baby out. It hurts to move, breathe, cough, lift my arms, lie down, etc.

Any healing thoughts you can send my way would be more than welcome.

I am just scared at the timing of all of this!

Healing vibes and hugs to you! Hope you can just take it easy and focus on recovering. If you're on abx, make sure you take loads of probiotics or eat yogurt etc to get your flora back into balance before birth--you don't want to be dealing with thrush on top of everything! Load up on vitamin C, too--it's truly a miracle cure for everything.

Oh Kimmy, I totally know how you feel. I have been dealing with this for almost 3 weeks now. Mine started as bronchitis. We think I may have even cracked a rib!!! I am sending you all the healing energy I can, we have to get well for these little ones that are on their way. I am scared as well of what will happen if I am not back to health before labor (homebirth also).

I saw this post in the main menu (I wasn't really stalking ).

I just wanted to say that I was in this exact situation the week before DS was born 2 years ago. It really sucks. I remember telling DH that if I didn't "make it," I wanted him to call some friends and get them to donate milk. I wasn't *that sick*, but the emotions, hormones, exhaustion all made it seem really bad.

So, I feel for you mamas!
