I've been thinking about her too! Her blog has a post with a pic of her little girl, born 2/24 - but no details or birth story. So hopefully she will pop on here as soon as she's able & give us an update & let us know that they're both doing well!

Hi everyone. thanks for caring!
I had Beatrix Gabrielle on Sunday morning by emergency c-section. I had no amniotic fluid surrounding her and the induction wasn't working. (I had a foley cath induction, really cool!) I laboured for about 10 hours, 7 of which was augmented with pitocin, it sucked, but I had an amazing doula and my husband was perfect. I did end up having a section though. She was born alert since I didn't get the spinal until the surgery. She's beautiful.
Unfortunalty she's in the NICU, we're not sure what's wrong. She may have had a seizure on Tuesday (which was when we were going to be released). There have been more tests than I can count and everything is normal except her platlet count which is still abnormal. However my placenta was bad and that is the new theory that it crapped out and she lost weight in utero and she had no reserves when she was born. Then with me not producing a lot of colostrum she got really sick.
As of today she's starting to take formula from a bottle, since I can't produce anything. Yesterday she threw everything up and they kept her on her IV nutrition.
ANyhow I'm sorry this is so unorganized. I will write a proper birth plan soon. I don't feel traumatized by my birth. I am happy I was able to labour as long as I did naturally, I wish I could have had a vaginal birth, but oh well.
My nurses were amazing, one of the doctors was horrible. But that's okay.
my blog is thetweedles.net and I'll try and get more pictures up soon.

thanks again for the thoughts! I swear I could feel them while I was slogging through everything.

Hi everyone, we're home. She was released today. Still no clue what happened or caused it. The placenta is the best answer though.
Thanks for the thoughts and wishes. Now I'm off to see what I've missed this week!
