Our amazingly lazy homeschool day today

Consisted of a bit of Rainforestmaths.com (that site just rocks!) and spending the rest of the day almost entirely outside, enjoying the spectacular autumn-like weather!

We blew dandelion seeds (fits in with science.. he's been learning about seeds, how they grow new plants, and *how they travel to new places to grow*) So we're calling this practical experimentation ,

We de-spidered their cubby house *(ew) and hung up their new Pirate Flag as a door curtain and then played pirates in full costume (theatre )

We cut out about 36 leaf shapes that I printed onto autumn coloured construction paper and bedecked our nature table with Autumn cheer (and chit chatted about how & why the leaves change colour.. even though MOST of them *here* do not lol)

And we did our daily weather tracking (check radar site online for rain, circle the appropriate weather for the day on our chart after looking out the window, write the temp down @ lunchtime) and we read part of Mummies in the Morning.

Some days I really think I should give up curriculum & defect to unschooling, because this was just THE most glorious day!!!! :

Hehehe... I'm in Brisbane Australia Melissa Our autumn is really a pathetic wanna be compared to the gorgeous colours & truly brisk days you probably get up there though! But after an absolutely wiltingly hot and sticky summer, I'll take it!

Fantastic! That's the way it is around here, too- the days we make the most 'progress' are the days that are relaxed and unschool-like.

BTW, a huge THANK YOU for the math site! I can hardly wait for tomorrow to let the DC play on that site!
