Silk question

Hi mamas--
I'm interested in dyeing some silks for play-silks for my boys. i'm a bit overwhelmed with my silk choices... is there a particular type that dyes/works best??

a friend of mine is ordering from this website... is there a silk that'd be best?

This is what most people buy to dye silks:

The 8mm Habotai silk. You can buy it already hemmed/rolled, which is a lot easier than doing that yourself.

I really want to try this one day. (Add it to the list!) When I do it, I will probably use the kool-aid method, as a first time.
