Some days he nurses alot and other days he nurses alot for short periods and we still night nurse as needed, but usually at least once during the night. Thoughts ladies?
I'm 38 and nursing a 2 1/2 year old, so we're in the same boat. I'm right in the middle of our third cycle TTC, so it's a little too soon for me to be drawing any conclusions about how fertility and nursing will work with my own body. My son nurses only twice a day for a total of about 25 minutes, so that's different from your experience.
I am also committed to child-led weaning and mothering the child I actually have right now -- but I don't know if I would feel the same after eight cycles of trying, like yourself. I honestly think I would move toward weaning, at least starting with night weaning!
How are your cycles? Do you ovulate on a regular basis? Any "near misses" as far as pregnancy? Our first cycle TTC in December I had a chemical pregnancy, so at least I know something is working. (I'm assuming that having just one chemical doesn't mean something is actually wrong.)
This is a question that comes up over and over here. There is no easy answer. I wish you lots of luck and fertility!
