Is anyone else reading A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle? I am currently in the middle of chapter 2, and I will also be attending the online class on oprah.com tomorrow. I'm finishing my workbook pages today.

Anyway, what do you think of it?

i read the book and loved it! i'm also doing the webinar tonight.

i found the second half of the book to be more inspiring than the first half. but all in all, it's an excellent book. i feel changed on the inside from reading it.

I feel that I have had quite a few A HA! moments so far in the book, but I haven't felt the "shift" that everyone is talking about just yet. I am glad to hear someone say that the 2nd half is more inspiring.

Is the webinar tonight or tomorrow? I have to go double check now.. I don't want to miss it.

yes, i had plenty of aha moments throughout the book. but i found that while i was reading the first half, i was thinking about the ego in people i know, which i eventually realized was the ego in me! LOL but by the second half, it was all about me.

it's such a great book and i highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to expand their self-awareness.

the webinar is tomorrow, i forgot, thought it was tonight.

The ego thing really hit me - especially the part about the "mine." All these things that I think make up "me." If I took it all away, what would I be? How would I describe myself? I have really come to realize that I define myself through my stuff - my house, my clothes, my car.

I am looking forward to the webinar tomorrow. You'll have to let me know what you thought of it.

I loved the book, had many AHA moments reading it. I then read his other book "The Power of Now", which I also really enjoyed. I need to read the first one again though, because even though I'm starting to recognize my ego and pain body. I still can't seem to stop them. But as he says learning to recognize is the first step.

I did my workbook. I must admit I'm looking forward tonight. Though this moment right now with my cup of tea and watching my dd1 play while dd2 is sleeping is very precious as well.

I finished reading A New Earth this morning, then reread chapter1 while taking notes to prepare for this evening. Since dh has school tonight I even bought my boys a movie to keep them occupied during the webcast, I always swore I would NEVER use the TV to help babysit... :

Well, this evening I put the boys in their pajamas early and logged into oprah.com. I got myself a glass of wine, bottle of water and a snack to enjoy during the webcast. I gave the boys a banana and a glass of milk. I started their movie, then sat down for the webcast. Everything was going well and I was enjoying the video of Oprah before the webcast. Then the webcast started, everything was still perfectly fine. Then the video and audio kept pausing for 2-4 seconds EVERY 2-4 seconds. I decided to accept it and to breath and just be present during the pauses thinking it is only because there are so many people in the class. At first I didn't mind, sure it was a little inconveniencing but I could sort of figure out what was said during the pauses. Then I started to think that it was my computer messing up not the webcast - I, or my EGO (!), started to think and to think too much! Next thing I knew I was restarting my computer. Well, I never got back into the class but I sure did enjoy the first 15 minutes! I am looking forward to the message boards about the class and to watching it tomorrow when it is posted.

i was able to watch it up until the first skype call then it went blank. but what i did see of it was really great. i really like Eckhart Tolle, he seems so gentle and humble, especially sitting next to Oprah who's own voice and personality is so strong and larger than life! what a contrast.

i hear that the video will be available for download on the website or from itunes, so i will be downloading it to my ipod today.

What's the book about? There was a notice at our UU church about this book and the webinar but that was the first time I ever heard of it.

I can so relate. I had a fire going in the fireplace, my book, workbook, laptop, something to drink... then mine started acting funny around the first Skype interview. After trying different things, I accepted it and did something productive for the rest of the night. Some time today I will take time out to enjoy the podcast.

I could have written this. The same thing happened to me. After the Skype question I had to admit defeat and am going to download it later on today.

The same exact thing happened to me. I was so enjoying the webcast, taking notes & drinking my tea...then the video started stuttering every few seconds. Finally I gave up & will download it tonight. I love the book so far. It is very reminiscent of many Buddhist books I have read. I love how he talks about all religions being different paths to the same ultimate reality, which is exactly what I believe. I also think his clarification between religion & spirituality was really well written. Can't wait to watch later........

Hi Everyone,
Well, the same happened to me and I was so pleased at my acceptance of the situation! The unawakened me would have been very disapointed and frustrated. I see you all felt ok with it too. Isn't so freeing? I tried to watch today but only got audio. Anyone know how to view w/o downloading to an ipod? My hubby does have one but I'd like to just watch from the computer if I could.

I just downloaded the audio of lastnights class. I had so many AHA moments while listening to it. And so much wonderful peace and contentment has remained. That is until my mom phoned. I guess I'm not as enlightened as my ego wants to think that I am. But at least I'm starting to be more and more aware of it.

I wasn't able to watch last night either, the internet must have been super bogged down...
But, today I watched while I cleaned under the sofa and I LOVED it...so cool to know that 500,000+ have watched this!

When I did the workbook pages yesterday, I felt such an amazing connection to the part about the flowers....that we can witness a magical realm, pure being by considering a flower without any judgement. And although I have experienced that many times in the woods, or garden, I'm right NOW soooo enjoying my baby. She's 10 months old and still in that etherial place where her thoughts don't control her (very much) and she's pure BLISS...so amazingly angelic and beautiful. It's so easy to experience SPIRIT/ GOD through the little ones.

I love this book, it's changing the way I see things....in a big way! I think the biggest thing that I want to change is the way I talk about other people and their problems, and also.."who" I spend my time and space with.
