My water broke BUT....

I'm still here waiting for my contrax to intensify. I have been in and out of labor since Tuesday with bloody show, loss of my mucous plug, sporadic ctx, etc. Last night my water broke around 3:30am and I've been having irregular ctx all day, painful at times but not too intense. I know things are happening but the waiting game is killing me. Every time I have a more intense ctx, I get excited that this is it.

My due date is today and we keep joking that it would be very appropriate for us to have a baby that's 'on time' since my husband and I are quite anal about always being on time!

I REALLY hope things get moving soon!

Lots and lots of walking and activity . . it helps! And deep squats . ..helps settle the babe in for ctx's.

Good luck! Lots of walking, and I'd do some serious nipple stimulation--use a breast pump, 15 minutes per side. Can't wait to hear all about it!!

Sound much like my labor, which I'll post a longer birth story about soon when I am not holding a baby with one arm. Water broke 230 in the morning last Monday... had lost mucus plug/bloody show... irregular contractions through Tuesday midday. My birth center was going to give me till Tuesday 6pm to develop a regular ctx pattern or else have me go to the hospital for pit. At noon, at my midwife's advice, took 4 oz castor oil. Was having diarrhea and ctx lasting 1.5 min by midafternoon, was 3 cm at 4, 4 cm at 630, and went to a birthing room. I labored in the tub for a while and was having lots of pressure/ felt like I needed to go to the bathroom more which I assumed was still an effect of the castor oil, but the midwife checked me @ 830 and I was complete and +3cm. My daughter Eva was born at 858. So I would now swear by castor oil, even though I was a skeptic. Know I am sending warm thoughts your way. I know how frustrating it can be waiting for things to progress.

Right after i posted this, my labor picked up! Ctx started getting heavy about 3PM, unbearable around 5 and little Eric James was born on his due date at 7:36PM at home and underwater! It was an absolutely beautiful birth! He's nursing like a champ! I am so excited that I managed an HBAC! Yay!
