...knit baby socks to sell?

I just signed up for a table at a mom to mom sale in two months. I've been toying around with the idea of knitting a bunch of baby socks to sell in addition to all the toys and clothes that my ds has outgrown.

Would you buy that sort of thing at a mom to mom sale? How much would you pay? Should I spend a little more and use organic cotton yarn? I just want to get an idea if this is worth my time and effort. I can easily knit a couple pair each week. I was thinking of selling them for $5 a pair, is that too much?

Definitly splurge on orgainic cotton. You will use so little yarn for baby socks, but put in so much time that scrimping on materials makes no sence at all. You should be able to get enough more for organic cotton to more than make up for the extra cost.

I think I'd pay $5 for hand knit organic cotton socks, but what will you make at that price? After subtracting yarn say you're left with $3. Let's say it takes you 6 hours to knit a pair you're only making 50 cents an hour, not including overhead and pairs that do not sell. However, if you can knit them up in a half hour that's $6 an hour.
