Well two of my submissions were declined for upfront offer so I resubmitted them for performance payment only. I'm just waiting for them to be published now. However I did get an offer for each of my other articles. One was a $3 offer which I was happy to get. But the other was a $4.01 offer for an article I thought was really well written. I accepted the offer because I could really use the money, but I'm really disappointed that they didn't give me a better offer. Maybe it's because I do pretty much all my articles as non-exlusive. I don't know. I think the thing that bothers me most is that the past 4 articles that I've received an upfront payment for have had no feedback whatsoever when the offer was made.

mrs nikki my acceptance rate went from like 95% to 50% around the end of last year. if you send me your CP link I can read your articles and maybe give you some pointers.

Your pieces are well chosen and properly keyworded for the most part, but your more op-ed type pieces are not. The pregnancy one and the military one could both do with better keywording in the introductory paragraphs. That's all I see just now but I'll let you know if I notice anything else.

Hey thanks, I am exhausted from writing but I am trying my best to keep up my rate week after week, the last couple weeks I've averaged writing 36 (6 pieces a day 6 days a week) but this this week I wrote 35 (7 pieces 5 days a week) because I wanted to have two days were I didn't have to write. Not all of the articles are getting offers but I am submitting them for PV regardless.

I literally just finish submitting the last piece, I had to wait till this morning to add the pictures to about a dozen of the articles because it was after midnight last night when I finished proofing them. Normally as soon as I write an article I'll proof it and submit it, but this week I tried writing all of the articles first, finding pics for them, then proofing them all and then submitting them all. I think I like it better the other way.

I don't think I'll hear from them this weekend, but hopefully on Monday they will review some of the articles. It has been a bit challenging finding time to reach my goals, usually if my son is napping I'm at my computer writing an article. On the plus side I have cut back a huge amount of the TV that I watch, I think the only show I sat through from beginning to end was this week's new LOST.

Happy writing everyone.

Hello, thought I'd join you here. I've been working (very slowly) at freelance writing lately. I just submitted my first article to AC today. I put it in for an upfront payment so I guess it will be a little bit before it is published, but at least I got one submitted finally. It's about baby names. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what my pen name is or not so I won't mention it here until someone can tell me for sure.

I'm sorry to hear about your stove.

I am working on a couple of things right now but DD isn't cooperating. I am hoping to have something to submit tomorrow.

wow! That's awful and scary, but at the same time it makes me think of the sims. Yeah I've played that game too much. I'm glad it was just the stove.

Oh my goodness! I'm glad no one was hurt.

Rainbowmoon, I was lying awake last night coughing and thinking what a great article the oven catching on fire would be. First page for sure.

My parents' stove caught on fire and burned 1/2 the kitchen when I was a kid. That was when I learned to love the wok.

LOL. too funny. we all are thinking alike! I have just thought of about 5-10 article ideas this morning from the stove fire (and others like cooking without a stove, what to do in the event of a stove fire, etc)

first thing I need to do is replace the fire extiguisher!

It's a computer game of simulated humans. You pick their look, personality, interests and such. Then you can put them through college or send them out to start life. They can fall in love, have kids, go to work, have pets and hobbies. I don't play it very often anymore but did when I was younger. I mainly just like building houses on it.

Well I got a new piece published. It was a content call and it's only for performance pay, but that was okay with me as I retain the rights to it. I intend to find additional markets for it eventually. I think it's a good piece.

I've been trying to promote my content a bit. We'll see how that pays off.

I had two product reviews go up today, one on green bags and one on the Moby wrap. I'm going to try to write some more tonight, but right now I have to focus on promoting because I've been slacking...so it will be a few days before I can start on our site. I'm thinking Wednesday at the earliest.

I'm sorry I've been out of the loop. What site are you referring to Heather? I'm interested!
I'm making us a site. I have a domain registered already. I will be listing articles by category and putting up a biography page on each contributing writer. I am going to try to get us a forum as well, a real one, where we can talk about AC, share links galore, etc. But that is wayyy off. Right now it just points to my CP page, but I'll let you know when I start building.

I registered with a hosting service today and paid, but then they put my account on hold, refunded the money, and made me call...then I had to pay again, and I'm now waiting for my account to activate and for the refund to go through. I'm going to get started as soon as that happens.

Is anyone here good with web design, graphics, or anything? I'd love it if somene wanted to collaborate. I can handle it myself, but it's always nice to have some other input.

A question for you all...should every writer get a full page biography (self-written, of course), should I list everyone with a short paragraph and link to their page, or should I just put a list of writers with a link to their content pages at AC (and Suite 101) where they've written about themselves? Right now I am just doing a basic list of links, but I can do more if that would be cooler.
I think a page would be cool, but not if it's a ton of work for you. A paragraph with a link would work too. Whatever is easiest I say.

I could use some help from anyone in the know. I submitted an article on AC and it was declined because I didn't cite stats/sources. It's a mish mash piece of opinion/first person experience, and fact. They asked me to resubmit with sources or delete. I've not no interest in citing and resubmitting. Can I resubmit for performance pay only? If not, how do I delete the submission? Thanks in advance.
Go to the My Content tab and jus tclick the tiny X by the article. Then resubmit for performance bonus.
OK, how about anyone who wants a whole page, PM me with what you want to put on it, info, pix, links, whatever, and I'll get it up for you.

It is going to be a ton of work, but it's easy work that's just tedious and time-consuming. I've been wanting to do this for a while so don't feel bad. I'm not just doing it for the group.
