Burned my Le Creuset

I am so sad. I bought a beautiful Le Creuset dutch oven. It's gorgeous. I've only had it over a year or so but it developed small nicks in the bottom of the pan. I've been really careful with it, not used metal etc... but, it still had all these nicks.

So, I was making chili a few days ago and because of the nicks, everything stuck and burned to the bottom of the pot.

I've done everything I can think of to clean the pot. Baking soda, soaking etc.. But nothing is working Is it gone forever?

Well, if the nicks caused the burns, then I would call it a manufacturer defect and send it in for a replacement.

Yes call them! It looks like the nicks are the problem!

You might want to try this paste:

Baking soda, and some all purpose flour (or WWF as that's all I have), sprinkle them on top of the pot, add vinegar to make a paste and it will bubble up. It worked for us, hope it will work for you.

put water in it and bring it to a boil, dump a bunch of baking soda in it and turn the fire off. let it sit for a while/cool off. the burnt on nast should come right off

I have a few recipes that stick. I boil water on the stove in them and then scrub. As mentioned above, vinegar or soap in the water helps.

I just can't imagine it can't be cleaned. It's cast iron under the enamel, after all.

Do you have a smooth top range? I use the acidic smooth top cleaner for the worst pan-rind. I mention that in case you have some around.

I've had success with boiling water getting the stuck whatever loosened enough for normal washing.

If it chipped inside with normal, and no metal tools, use, then that sounds like a manufacturing error to me too. Contact them.
