Does anyone know about waterproofing 100% cotton fabric?
I bought a rain jacket at the Goodwill that I love, but the tag (hidden inside a pocket) says "Dry Clean Only" and I am sure this has been washed. It still looks great but it does not repell water. The tag also says to "re-proof" after dry cleaning or a lot of wet/wear. I don't want to have a dry cleaner do this b/c I am sure it involves noxious chemicals. Is there any way to re-waterproof (at home?) safely?
I found a product the washes in called NIKWAX - anyone know anything about it's effectiveness/safety?
