My lilac bushes are putting off runners, again. They are about 3 feet tall, and instead of hacking them down this year like years past just to keep my tiny yard clear enough to use, I would like to remove them to pots for sale at my new market stand.
What is the best way to do this, how much root/runner do I need? How big of a circle should I cut with my shovel? How deep? I think gallon pots would be big enough, do you? So many questions! TIA
