HELP!!! Need openminded ped in Wilmington!!!

I took my daughter to her 2 month apt at our ped (we have a 4 and 7 year old, but have just starting researching vaccines and have decided we are declining most and delaying a couple) well I left there feeling like the worst mother EVER and got the "if she even gets a slight fever I don't care what time it is, you have to bring her to the hospital so we can take x-rays, a spinal tap, and blood work so we can see which bacteria she has caught since she's not vaccinated" WHATEVER!!!!! She continued to tell me that I would be harassed at every visit because they were a "pro-vaccine" office! So i am desperate to find someone else, the only other Ped. that I have heard of is not taking new patients (in fact you have to still be pregnant and attend a parenting class he offers and there are 250 people on the waiting list for that!) I just don't know what to do!!!!!!

I'm sorry. I will be lurking to find out. I went to General Practitioner and although he didn't like it (he told me so) he didn't push the issue or make me feel bad per say, but i got the feeling that if I decided not to follow through (because I was undecided) that he might not see me anymore.

Dr. Harum is a DAN doctor and a ped. She is very aware of parents concerns with vaccines and will guide you in the right direction. Hope this helps. Take care.

Thats awful!! Can you reveal which practice it i so i can stay away?

I am pregnant and researching pediatricians, so this is not first hand, but I have asked around alot.

Have you called Seaside Pediatrics or The Pediatric Center?
They both have an excellent reputation and encourage breastfeeding, are sensitive to vaccination concerns, and supposedly really hesitate to write prescriptions!!

Another option is to just go with a family practitioner... you don't have to see a pediatrician for your baby's needs.

Also, who is your gynecologist/OB. They may have suggestions. I see the midwives at CArolina OB/GYN (not just for pregnancy, but before, for all my paps and regular exams) and they always have amazing suggestions for resources in town...

I go to carolina OB/GYN too and they are amazing. My hubby and I have a meeting at Seaside this week. we are excited and have heard great things about them.
