Home heath nurse just left. Anisa is 9 days old today. She has gained almost 1 pound!!!! She is 7 lbs.12 oz. The nurse was surprised because she said most babies, especially breastfed babies, lose 10 % of their body weight in the first 2 weeks! She said we are doing great with the nursing, especially for me being a first time mom! Ican't beleive how big she has gotten since she has been born!

That is awesome! My first DS did lose a bit... probably 10%.. GREAT job breastfeeding!

Way to go mama!

i've read the opposite, that exclusively breast fed babies don't lose as much. way to go on the whole pound weight gain!! i'm curious to see how much Cash has gained.

My son gained a pound his first week too! Congrats mama! That milk works miracles, let me tell you.

Congratulations!! That is super. We had our first check up too. My baby has gained 2 1/2 lbs in 4 weeks! I am soooo happy!
