I did it!!!

I finally successfully taught myself how to crochet...

LOL, this has a bit of a back story to it...I have a security blanket that a random distant relative crocheted for my mother while she was pregnant with me. 20+ years later, that is the blanket I wrapped around my newborn daughter.

However, as with most things that are 25+ years old, the blanket started to unravel. I placed an emergency phone call to my mom to try and track down ANYONE who could crochet and repair the blanket - apparently, though, it's become the latest of the lost arts. The distant relative who initially made the blanket for me passed away 3 years ago, and was evidently the last family member who could crochet. Everyone else knits.

So...I set myself the goal of learning crochet, so that I could repair the blanket. Not only did I finally succeed, but I was also able to figure out the stitch pattern to the blanket, so I will hopefully be able to get it repaired in time to wrap THIS baby in it!!

What a sweet story, and congratulations on learning to crochet! You're so close to delivering, too. Yay!

So happy to hear that . . . It often seem like more people are interested in learning to knit than crochet. It give me immense joy to hear that one more crocheter has joined the ranks!
