Henry got Stinky or Stinky bear b/c he has the worst smelling gas, when he was born it smelled like eggs, now it smells like onions.
also he is Chompy the Crankmiester b/c he chomps on anything in his mouth and is colic and cranky!!

your turn...

Eli gets called Chunky Monkey quite a bit. His second chin and thunder thighs contribute to the name.

I call little Senara my little Peach. Her little face was so round and just looked like a sweet little peach. It's filled out a bit more now, but she's still my little peachy-peach girl.

We haven't officially named our boy yet, so my dc's have nicknamed him "Ducky" and "Wyatt". I call him little man, or baby, not to very exciting I know.

DH calls Sid "Tank" because he's huge, but I call him "munchkie mu" (no idea why )

Rosebud
Papoosle
Piggy (she gained 20 ounces in 11 days!!)
Little Meatball (when she's all crunched up)
Eggroll
Pirogie
Baby Girl
Beautiful Girl
Princess (when she's particularly demanding)
Lovelove

Hamster boy. Because he keeps trying to store breastmilk in his cheeks, then forgets where he left it. And he looks like he's storing half a fridge in his cheeks

I call Beatrix: Trixie, Princess Peach, Missy Moo, Trixie Bee, Trixie Boo. Trixie for obvious reasons, Princess Peach because her head is fuzzy like a peach, and it's something I just started the last couple weeks I was still pregnant, Missy Moo is just a pet name I've always called little girls, (little boys are Monkey Bean or Goosey, I have no idea how I came up with them, I've worked with a lot of kids, they just have evolved)
DH calls her: Girl, Baby Girl, Sweet Baby Girl. (he's a little less creative.)

We are still trying to come up with names for our latest addition, Audrey! The others have plenty of names! Our DD1 is Noochie (I am really not sure where that came from, but we have been calling her that since infancy!) DS1 is "DD" and DS2 is T-bear,Trevie and for some reason we also call him LeeLee. It is funny how we come up with these names for our kidos!

My husband called Eli Frank the Tank for awhile for the same reason. Not sure why Frank.

laughuplaughuplaughup

flapjack you are hilarious. I am sitting here cracking up at that mental picture....

We call our little girl "monkey" a lot...probably a hold over from when I was pregnant and we referred to the then unknown babe as "barfy monkey".
Her daddy has a new pet name for her every day. I am still on bella, lovebug, and, when she is nursing, "shark puppy". She has big round eyes and a serious latch that makes her look (and feel!) like a tiny little shark to me...

Lu
Lu-heart
Hot Stuff

I also find that I call her "child" alot. Very generic sounding, I know, but when she was a baby I called her "baby" alot. I think I'm just subconsciously aware how fleeting these stages are- babyhood and childhood- and I want to relish them.

Terran:

"My Little Miracle", mostly because he was conceived via an at-home insemination with a known donor when I was 42 after 15 unsuccessful attempts but also because he looked kind of like the newborn on the cover of the board book by that title.

"Little Bit" just because.

And I'm completely comfortable with "beautiful boy", "gorgeous guy" or anything else that's flattering about his appearance and acknowledging his maleness, which just IS this time around instead of being such a huge deal as it was the first time I had a baby that happened to have a penis.

Christopher:

"Furry" because we didn't want to call him "Chris"; dd later turnec that into "Toe Fur".

"Critter" sort of for the same reason and sort of for Mercer Mayer's Little Critter books.

"Charles Wallace" because of Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle In Time series

Jeanita:

"Pooter" or "Pootie" for some reason I forget, but not because she had gas

"Amoeba" because that's how "Jeanita" came out of Christopher's mouth once when he was a toddler and the cutest part about it was that he knew what amoebae are.

Oh Helen... that reminds me of an episode of King of the Hill, and that's just SO wrong.

Bella was Princess Krappilatch (pronounced, yes, 'crappy latch') for quite a time. Mike thought it was SO mean, until I reminded him that my brother referred to his son as "Doctor Poopenstien" for several months.

Bear is Bear because his middle name is Theodore. Theodore ---> Teddy ---> Bear. His is the only pseudonym that makes that much sense, so I rather enjoy it. Of course, he is also Pumpkin Butt, because all of the kids are Pumpkin Butt. His other nicknames are all word games with his first name. Nothing terribly fancy or creative, I must say... although I do tend to think of him as Outpost or The Last Starfighter, because he's the Last Baby. Yah, I'm a little odd...

We call our little girl "Snort" because she snorts and grunts whenever she's somewhat indignant about what's going on (diaper changes or feedings that aren't coming fast enough.)

It makes me think of the children's book Are You My Mother? when the little bird comes upon a large steam shovel and says, "You are not my mother; You are a Snort." I say, "You are not my baby; You are a SNORT!"

I called my third DD "Bunchy" because of the way she scrunched up her face when she cried. And my DS was (and still is) "Little Buddy".

Oh, I forgot, he's aka Moist. Pratchett reference, yes, but entirely appropriate because of the aforementioned forgetting where he left his dinner issue.
