During the birth, I like quick foods that I can pop into my mouth, minimally chew and swallow, so as not to take me away from mom for too long. Also, for the mother's sake, nothing too smelly (like tuna or garlic), since I'm going to be back in her face in a minute.
Fruit salad
Mixed nuts
Oatmeal from the crock-pot (Mmmmm)
And yes, fresh coffee is
always welcome here! If you don't have a brewer, if an extra person (cousin or whoever) can make a run to 7-11-awesome as well! If not, tea is good too.
After the birth, anything goes.
