That's what I found in my first real look at my diet too. Lots of empty calories that leave me hungry and without the things I need for a healthy pregnancy. Dang it, I like those things too.
What's working for me is to have them a few days a week. I really like cereal for breakfast but if I eat it, I don't get full and eat again an hour later.
I can't imagine how hard it is to get enough protein being vegan. I thought vegan meant you only eat things that grow in the ground. I know some no doubt trendy vegan told me that a long time ago.
