I know - I ordered Dan Zanes' Rocketship Beach after reading a recommendation for it on MDC. Is that one of the ones you have?

There was a whole great thread here a while back where everyone rec'd their favorite kids' CDs. I discovered so many good interesting albums based on that thread, I wonder if it's still around or if it's been pruned...

You should also check out *For the Kids*, it's an excellent compilation CD. Including a great rendering of The Rainbow Connection by Sarah McLachlan, the one song that ds gets completely quiet and smiles when it comes on.

very great. we have the first one and ordered the other two.

you also might check out ralph's world (http://www.ralphsworld.com/). he's great, too. very poppy and fun. not too raffi-ish, not that we're above a little raffi now and then, but i go for more the poppy/rocky stuff or real folk music like woody guthrie. ("daddy o daddy" is another great cd of other artists covering woody's kids songs.)

for dan!

Dan Zanes use to be the singer/lead song writer for a great Boston-based garage band called the Del Fuegos:

Caught many a show at the dearly departed clubs like Storyville and The Rat.

The kid digs the new stuff (and so do I). Will spin the early stuff at a later date.

hey rowan's dad,

i used to like the del fuegos back in the day, too. i found it interesting that on dan's current web site he doesn't mention his brother warren who was in the band, but does mention the other lead guy. hrrrmmmmm...

Hee, hee.... one of ds' favorite songs is the one that goes "All around the kitchen, cock-a-doodle, doodle-doo"

Personally, I like "Thriftshop" with Sandra Bernhardt.
