KMart collecting money for MOD in bottles

A Tucson KMart is collecting money for March of Dimes in pretty pastel colored baby bottles. Does anyone know this is happening in their community or if this might be a local concern?

My local church did this too for our Pregnancy Crisis Center. They used cheap bottles. They've been doing this for years. I kept trying to come with something better but I never did. For us we take them home and then bring them back filled with money some time later.

Plastic piggy banks?
Wipes boxes?

Could be worse though. In our local fundraiser for Riley's the parents normally use formula cans.

Maybe they could use this instead?

THAT is hilarious!

I'm not sure I see where this is that big of a problem. At least they are collecting money.

I agree.

I'm sure it's because it makes people think of babies. Maybe they could collect the money in a bra instead?

I coordinate our MOD fundraising efforts at my corporation, and that is not the norm. However, as long as they're collecting it, I don't really care what it's in.

Hey, it's a great use for bottles! Don't use them to feed your babies, just for loose change!

This doesn't bother me at all. For those of us who pumped so that the babies could be fed while we were at work, the only way to get the breast milk into the baby's mouth was via a bottle. That's what I associate them with, the same association my kids will have. I tell them that baby bottles were how "Daddy would give you your me-me."

If they were collecting money in a formula can, that would be another story.
