planting crocuses

I planned on forcing a bunch of crocuses this winter, and I never did. They have begun to sprout/root. Can I plant them now? I know that it is not the right time of year, I am just hoping not to lose these bulbs.

Thanks

Are they still in the bag? If so you could plant them in pots and see what happens. I forgot about a huge stash of bulbs, and planted them in January. I lost a few anemones to mold, but the others are coming up strong. We live in zone 8, though, so the ground rarely freezes. I would give it a try, it beats letting them go to waste!
