CT Moms - they want to add more vaxes

I just saw this in an email from NVIC and I'm furious:

"Connecticut health officials are considering requiring the diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus booster, and a chicken pox and mumps booster for school-age children and a flu and Hepatitis A shot for children entering preschools. "

I tried contacting the CTVIA group but unfortunately it is no longer active. She suggested finding out from the Dept. of Health when the hearings are and to attend them and voice our opinions. I am also planning to contact my state reps.

I encourage others to do the same! This is getting ridiculous! We use a religious exemption - but still - are they going to prevent my son from attending preschool all winter if he doesn't have a flu shot?!?!

For those curious, here are two articles about the lack of science to support some of these recommendations:

Lovely...just lovely.

I know some moms in DD's preschool have already been questioning the amount of vaxes...especially the CP...I wonder if this might just send them over the edge?

Here we go with the mandatory flushots. First NJ, now CT...

Yes MK, it is going to happen one by one....grrrrrrr......

Update:

I sent an email to webmaster@dph.po.state.ct.us - it was forwarded to Mick Bolduc (contact info below). He said he'd be "happy to address my concerns".

Rather than call him (because I fully expect to be lied to and/or given incorrect information - I'm too cynical) I put together a Word doc addressing just a few of my concerns, particularly with flu and hep A (if anyone wants to see it, PM me). I am not even sure if he can receive attachments - but so far I haven't received a response. If I don't have anything by Monday, I'm going to contact him and ask if he received my email.

I'm also concerned that we've missed our window. That memo I found was almost a year old.

CT Moms - we have to voice our concerns!!

It's just the way this stuff works, and why we all need to file as religious exemptors NOW.
There's no system in place to shut down these people's madness. No one at the CDC cares if flushots really protect the little ones. They assume it does and that's the end of it.
So file as a religious objector now or forever hold your peace.

Oh I do have one...BUT, the exemption says they can keep him out of school/daycare of there is an outbreak...I am concerned because the flu shot can be very ineffective as we all know so there will continue to be outbreaks of the flu. Are my kids going to have to stay home all winter? The policy has to be changed for the flu shot.
