Book recs about WWII/postwar women????

I would like to read some historical fiction or memoirs about women who were raising families during WWII and living with Victory Gardens and rations and all that, as well as the post war times and adjusting to new mass marketing/ consumeristic ways of life.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I love to read time period fiction and realize that this is a large gap that I don't know much about.

Thanks

Marge Piercy has an excellent one, about a diverse cross-section of women during WWII -- Gone to Soldiers.

That's what I was going to recommend, too.

A really good kids' book (10 and up, maybe?) that I loved and still have is Hut School and the War-time, Home-front Heroes. It's got your victory gardens, your family life, your kinfolk going off to war, your rationing.
