Early baby turned chubb!

I wanted to share my good news- my 'early' baby gained 3lbs in a month! DD was born at 35 wks, very sleepy and jaundiced. Every 2-3 hours I nursed her as long as she stayed awake (2-3 mins) feed her EBM, repeat.
She cleared jaundice pretty quickly, but even a month later had not regained her birth weight. We also had serveral horrible weeks until I realized she can't tolerate dairy or soy in BM when I couldn't believe she kept anything in her tummy. Luckily, I picked a ped who is pro BFing and was willing to watch and wait. She'd been gaining slowly, but this month she had gained 3 lbs and is very healthy. So glad I resisted hospital pressure to use 'supplementation.'
It makes the exhausting wks I spent nursing/pumping & visiting the ped every two days, then the hour + nursing sessions every 2-3 hrs worth while to see her chubby cheeks and belly. I can finally relax, but my back is not responding well to to life with an 11 pounder! Even better- I won a bet about her weight with DH and he had to buy dinner. A momma knows...
I know this is a common situtation so I wanted to share that it can be done and encourage other mommas!

You are AWESOME! It takes so much dedication (and courage!) to do what you did (an exhausting amount of work!) in the face of pressure from "experts"--you GO mama

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you. DS came at 33 weeks so I know some of what you are feeling. I am so happy to see his chub, too. Way to go momma.

I'm so glad for you!!! It really is the best feeling in the world. My dd was a bit late but VERY small and very sleepy and we had a huge problem the first month with weight. She's a porker now too and it's just the best feeling in the world to know that you are nourishing this little person so completely.

That's very cool! I always assume later means bigger, but that certainly isn't true. You are so right about that feeling...
