BV and TTC?

I had a hard time deciding where to post this and decided on here. I have recurring BV (recurring by meaning every month recurring). I have tried numerous prescriptions but it always seems to come back every month. Now we are TTC and I am wondering if this can pose problems for getting pg. I also heard about this stuff called RePHresh which is supposed to balance out the PH in that area but I am concerned it will affect our chances as well.

Another thing - even though I have tested positive for BV numerous times, I also read that it could be the semen vs vagina PH differences that cause that nasty odor. : In that case, I wonder if it is actually worth treating and I would love to find a natural remedy to fix this so it doesn't affect our chances. Any advice from those that have BTDT? (Please....)

I NEVER get yeast infections. Last cycle after I Oed I got what I thought was a yeast infection. I treated myself and I got pregnant only for it to end in a chemical. My thyroid was off so I had my meds adjusted. I also had a sample of my CM tested because I still didn't feel "right" down there and it came back fine. So this cycle, same thing, I thought I was getting ANOTHER yeast infection after ovulation so I treated myself again and after I had treated myself I had sex and it had an awful smell so I did research and saw that BV was probably what I had. Low and behold I am pregnant AGAIN. So apparently what ever was going on in my vagina didn't stop me from getting pregnant. I have had sex since the one "smelly" episode and things seem back to normal. Maybe acidophilus might help. Hope my story helps you. Good Luck!

i've had some luck getting rid of bv w/ the ol' peeled garlic suppository trick...
be careful not to break the skin of the garlic because it can burn. you'll smell like garlic all over if you do this- garlic breath even, but if you don't mind it, it sure beats taking flagyl or whatever other poison.

my girlfriend has treated it w/ commercial tea tree suppositories. she said it worked alright, but they're kind of gross to deal with since it's wax or oil based and it makes a huge mess when it oozes out.

(btw, i've never had bv without getting semen in there first)

sorry for the graphic points, but hope that helps! good luck to you <3

Sorry, but what's a chemical? Was it a false positive? I'm clueless...

I was just diagnosed with hypothyroid too, I wonder if that can cause more susceptibility to infection? Maybe once my meds start working I won't have to deal with this anymore...:

Thanks for the info potatofairy and donnamr3211!

A chemical pregnancy. It's a term used for a very early loss, usually happens before 6 weeks. I have had three and one blighted ovum. It seems to happen when my thyroid is off.
