I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but, cumin tea!

I was reading that this was a gentle way of stimulating labour, so I tossed some cumin seeds into my RRLT and my mucous plug started coming out within the hour, and my baby was born the next morning!

He was SO ready - 9 lb, 8oz!

Evening primrose oil here and Jesse's massaging all my pressure points. I've been having these pathetic little contractions over the past several days that are totally sporadic and make me think things are getting going but then they do nothing. I tried homeopathic caullaphyllum yesterday to no avail.

Of course nothing I'm doing will do anything unless I'm actually ready to go into labour so...

I'm totally impatient. My mother was early with all her children so I figured I'd probably go early and was SOOO happy to make it to term. Now here I am at 38 wks, 4 days irritated I'm still pregnant. I'm not even to my due date yet. Someone smack me upside the head!

I hear ya. Not even to my due date yet and feeling seriously grouchy! So, I'm planning a (gentle) attack starting tonight. DH will be happy to oblige, I'm sure And then we'll try the pressure points on top of the lot's of walking and dancing I've already been doing (for fun & fitness, but now it's time to get down to business!). We'll see. I don't think anything is going to bring this baby before she's ready, but maybe it will give me something to do (I was ready at 36 weeks.... birth kit set aside, layette washed and put away, etc... I'm BORED now! )

Gosh, i could have written this! My mom had me at 33w, and my sis at 34w, so everyone was convinced i'd have this kid early... heres 38w6d and nothing, lol... (aside from a labor stopped at 34w by terb, yuck)

I know I'll get flamed for this one but the castor oil worked well for me. I know it's not a favorite around here. I took it Friday afternoon around 1pm after my MW had stripped my membranes for the 2nd time and then again at about 11pm. I woke up at 5:30 Saturday morning to contractions and he was born Saturday evening at 6:40. I did have diarrhea but for me it really wasn't that bad and by the time the baby came the oil had already passed through. I did poop when he was born but it wasn't diarrhea. I think it was because I ate here and there throughout my whole labor.

I would be afraid to do the castor oil just cos it seems there is the possibility of having severe diarhea and nausea, on top of labor discomfort. I want as comfortable labor as possible. BUT, I am so very, very, tired of being pregnant, and like a few mamas here not even at my due date (3/21).
I have heard great things about acupunture to kick start things, but again, it will not work unless your body is ready:. My SIL told me it put her into such a relaxed, zen state of mind, and within an hour after the procedure she started contracting. Her babe was born that night. She was 39 weeks. Practically ready to go anyway, and it costs $75 for the procedure here. I can use that money to buy a couple of nice nursing tops, maybe cloth diapers for the newborn.
I think tonight I'll just DTD, maybe go to a boot camp aerobics class too.
