Question about measuring dilation

In measuring a cervix that is not fully effaced, what part of the "neck" is measured for ascertaining dilation? Is it the bottom (vaginal side) or the top (uterine side)?

I measure both. You could say the inner os is 2cm, the outer os is 3cm for example. But usually by the time dilation matters, there's enough effacement to where there's no difference.

I'll measure both, but it's the inner os' dilation that you get "credit" for.

Yet another reason I hate doing vag exams during pregnancy!!!
