The formaldehyde used in vaccines is not the same as the formaldehyde used in building materials or the burial process...it is more similar to the amounts found in our bodies as a metabolic byproduct of methanol. (However, IMO this doesn't make it okay to add additional burden of 10% since we don't know what it will do...but that's another debate for another day!)

Anyhow, one is a synthetic urea-formaldehyde resin used in building materials and the other is a naturally occuring substance, but most people hear 'formaldehyde' and automatically think of stinky chemical plywood.

I do agree, that even naturally occuring substances shouldn't be messed with inside the body without knowing the ramifications of doing so. But, it is nice to know that they're not using that nasty stuff that are in the science labs. Eew.

I did think it was funny that the first CDC person told the OP that he would transfer her to someone who could help her more...and she ended up getting transfered to someone else who was reading the exact same stuff. Was she a faster typer? LOL

I find it even funnier that clearly the people she spoke with had no idea that formaldehyde is present in our bodies (granted it's cleared quickly or converted to formalin which takes a bit longer to clear) as basically waste (often excreted in our urine)...I'm sure they would have brought that up had they known. In a really condescending and snarky tone.

As if that makes a difference. Just because it's there doesn't infer the safety of adding additional burden, IMO.
