Summit Doppler VS. Medsonics Tria??

My Huntleigh, that is supposed to be waterproof, died a sad death at a birth last weekend. I need to get a new doppler before my next mama is due (any day now). I want a waterproof doppler, don't really need a display, but want a good warranty and the most affordable option of these two. I won't buy a Huntleigh again and don't like the shape of the Elites.

So, do any of you have feedback on these two?

I've had my Summit for over a year and have loved it. It was the least expensive option when I bought it too. I've got a regular one with a waterproof probe, getting ready to get a 2nd one with a 3 mhz probe for prenatals.

So, do you use the waterproof probe during prenatals now? I was going to just go ahead and buy both the waterproof probe and the 3mhz at the same time, I found a decent deal.
The thing about the Tria is that supposedly the waterproof probe works great in and out of water, so you only need one. I don't want to buy it and find that this isn't true.

Yes, I use the waterproof probe outside of water just fine. It works just as well either way.

Where have you found this deal? I just stopped doing all prenatal home visits and created an office space, I would like to get a second doppler to leave in the office so I'm not having to carry my birth bag in and out of the house all the time.

I never said "good deal" I only said, "decent deal". I am sorry to lead you two on. I have a budget and both dopplers fit into my budget, but they are nothing near being cheap.

Summit Lifedop

So which one should I buy?

Well, I've already told you that the Summit is a good doppler, and it's $125 cheaper...

I am happy with my new summit and the waterproof probe works fine out of the water. I have never tried a tria. (My huntleigh died) Mine ran 400 from Ollie Hamilton (Birth with Love) but she had a rebate form for me good through March 31st with trade in of the dead doppler...
I don't like that it is a little bigger than the huntleigh, but I really like the control placement as I can switch it on and adjust volume easily with one hand :-)

this is what i have, and mine is a like-new "refurbished" one i bought of ebay. i love it. it is so superior to any huntleigh i've ever used (don't know about summit). in particular i like the versatility, the sound quality and the magnetic probe. mine has been a great purchase.

Well, suddenly my Huntleigh started working again, so that is good. I think I am going to go ahead and get the Tria to use in water. My preceptor has a Medasonics(the old blue one) and has used it for her entire career, 20 yrs now, so I think that says a lot about their products.
