bottle closer to breast than finger feeding?

I went to respected renowned LC (not Newman) yesterday who recommended switching to the bottle from the finger for my breast-refusing baby.

I understand that babies can get attached to feeding methods and it's good to let my baby know that milk doesn't just come from a finger, but she said the bottle is closer to breast feeding than finger feeding -- this is opposite of what I have read.

I'm afraid to introduce the bottle. What do you think?

That surprises me too. Hmmmm.

I would say follow your instincts personally (and other advice). What was her reasoning? That it was 'closer' or that there were other benefits too?

If you DO go for a bottle I would try a haberman feeder (or special needs feeder) on zero flow option as that mimics breast flow.
