I'm a complete germophob!!

Is anyone feeling like this with their new little ones?! I thought I would be better with this sweet baby, since she's my second, but not by much. I'm paranoid about bringing her out anywhere! I also feel like it's unfair to dd1 (although she's not complaining and she has grandma and grandpa here for a couple more days to help entertain her). Anyone else out there feeling the same way?

I'm a complete germophobe too!! I was really able to tone it down and then I had my 3rd baby and I reverted back to "normal". This baby won't help it either. Even though breast fed babies are healthier in general, I am still a major worry wart with germs. My poor dd had pnuemonia at 4 months and that made me stay inside for months to keep her out of harms way LOL.

I know that because they are tiny, they seem so much more vulnerable, but I also think because they are so tiny, they are much less likely to pick up any germs than an older baby. They can't really grab anything, touch anything, put anything in their mouth (including their hands), etc, I think they are just so much less likely to pick anything up than an older baby that puts their hands in his mouth or can grab toys, etc. Plus, the colostrum and breastmilk is awesime protection!

I'm starting to worry that some of my plans for how the house is set up won't work once he's here-I figured I would bathe him in the sink (but suddenly, I notice the sink isn't as clean looking as a few months ago-even scrubbed it just doesn't seem clean enough-though I know it is, it's a newer sink!) and I am noticing the dust everywhere-on the ceiling fans, etc. And my car-we have lost somethign in my car that smells. I am freaking out(It's not like it never happened before-but the thought of bringing a baby home in a stinky car freaks me out-and I haven't found it yet. Haven't really tried either, just too darn tired) Oh well, so much for being the seasoned, calm second time mother I thought I would be-I think I am just going to be the same freaked out 1st time mother, all over again!

I'm on #5, and my two oldest are in school, bringing germs home. So even though we haven't been out much since my LO arrived, there are plenty of germs in the house. My four older children all have a cold. Sigh!

Thankfully (ha) I seem to have caught the same cold. So I am assuming that my baby is getting my antibodies to this particular illness. So far she's been very healthy.
