She plays with it in the bathtub. They are mostly #5 plastic but about 3 are #7. I took the 7's away. She is 7mo so she chews on the a lot also.

Should I just take them all away? or give them to her only outside the tub?

Eventually I would like to buy wood stackers but these were so cheap.

Absolutely. They're not going to get a lot of chemical out of playing with it and sticking it in their mouth now and then.

I need to know more about plastics....

We have that set (in its entirety) and DD still loves to pour water back and forth and so on while taking a bath. She's six years old and we've had this set since she was about 2.

I am aware of chemicals and plastics, etc. I have chosen to address the foods/beverages that go into her body (and containers to hold such items) and the household cleaners to reduce the risks.

Best wishes in your decision!

Other options...

Well, there are other options of colorful things she can use to play in the bathtub. I give my daughter finger puppets that are made of yarn with no little eyes or anything like that that she can swallow. She plays to give them a bath or hides them in the foam.

No, I would not let my kids play with that. We've slowly been replacing items - see my blog for more info on that and way at the beginning I wrote a long article on safe toys.

What non-plastic toys work in the bathtub though?

I crocheted a little frog hand puppet from cotton yarn. There are places that sell wooden boats, we plan to try and make one. I did buy the Spielstabil set from Oompa thats plastic but not MIC and its a safe plastic.

Metal measuring cups.

p.s. I let DS play with plastic in the tub, but he also loves metal measuring cups, so if you are going plastic-free, that is an options (stainless steel, I guess)

No, we don't do plastic in the tub either. DD has stainless steel measuring cups and spoons.
