This is exactly why I purchase goat milk in the powdered form. It's the only kind of milk I can tolerate, but I don't drink much milk because of the carb content. Buying the powdered milk means I can have half a cup of milk per week and it won't spoil before I use up the package. The goat milk costs EXACTLY the same thing per reconstituted quart whether I buy it ultra-pasturized, canned, or powdered (Meyenberg Farm brand.)
When I was drinking a lot of goat milk, I would buy it fresh (regular pasturized, not UHT) from a local HFS for slightly less than the price of the Meyenberg stuff.
I buy whole cow's milk (pasturized, not UHP) for the kids. It's far cheaper than the goat milk and they prefer the taste of the cow milk.
