2 at a time sock pattern help!

My friend bought the book 2-at-a-time-Socks . She has been knitting for a long time but she can't figure out the instructions. She passed it on to me along with needles and yarn and I can't figure out the instructions either!! Does anyone have experience with this method? Can you share how to do it right?

I get the casting on part, and then I divide and try to knit in the round for sock A. I get stuck at that point because I can't figure out how to knit in the round. I can only knit one side of the round and then what? Somewhere between steps 4 and 6 there seems to be some information missing. We are both getting stuck at the same point.

I am going to pass this on to my engineering friend and if *she* can't figure it out, my friend who bought the book and needle set is going to cry.

Are you on ravelry? That book has a group on there and they discuss how to do it....I know there were some misprints in a couple of the patterns. I have the book but havent tried any of them yet.

I'm not on any yarn boards, but I will pass that info on to my friend. I know she'll be relieved to know that help is out there. THanks!

Oh, gosh, I just don't know if I can explain it- if I ws there I could show you...
Ravelry is good, and there's several websites that show you what it should look like. Just google socks on two circular needles tutorial or something like that. Once you get the hang of it it's easy, I promise!

I have the book but haven't tried it yet - I just got my long circ needle yesterday. I will see if I can give it a try this weekend!

There is a great tutorial on this site that shows 2 pant legs at once, but it is the same idea. You could also try youtube, they have some great videos of 2 socks at once. (I am always cautious of using youtube when the kiddos are around)

I think I need some youtube help. I am seriously confused - and sleep deprived, which isn't helping.

My LYS owner is Antje Gillingham of The Knitting Nest who has a great book called Knitting Circles Around Socks which explains and diagrams the technique perfectly. She's a wonderful lady and fun to knit with. She also gives classes in this technique if you are ever in the East Tennessee area. You will never knit socks one at a time again!

Relax your brain for a minute. What happens with knitting two socks at the same time is different from knitting just one sock.

With two socks (at least the couple of times I've done it! I've not seen this book, so I don't know if it uses a different method) you knit across the front of one sock, drop that ball of yarn, pick up the next ball of yarn and knit across the front of the second sock. Then turn the whole system around, knit across the back of sock 2, drop the working yarn, pick up the working yarn from sock 1 and knit across the back of sock 1. Begin again. Front of sock 1, drop yarn, pick up yarn for sock 2, front of sock 2, back of sock 2, drop yarn, pick up yarn for sock 1 and do back of sock 1.

>>>sock 1>>>> | >>>sock 2>>>> TURN WORK AROUND
<<<sock 1<<<< | <<<sock 2<<<<
