Do you ever dye after knitting?

Well, do you? I have a share in a yarn CSA this spring and I want to use my yarn as efficiently as possible. It comes undyed, of course, so I'm wondering if I can dye my projects after I knit them. That way I'll be able to use up every last scrap of yarn!

A YARN CSA?!?! What a wonderful idea and an exciting thing to be a part of. I want in!!! :

Yes, I often dye my projects after knitting them, for just that reason (using up all the yarn) or because I'm just not sure what color to make something until it's done, or because I want to start knitting w/the yarn right away instead of waiting for it to be dyed and dried.
So you're all set.

Another fun thing you can do with completed projects is to dip-dye them, making gradations in the color.

HTH! Have fun.
