I just thought this photo was quite interesting. So many things to observe in it. Baby not breastfeeding, but it is all about breastfeeding.

(Hope this photo stays on the home page for awhile or you will wonder what I am talking about!))

I totally see what you mean, everything bout her clothing is breastfeeding friendly. The sling the baby is in is just the right height, her shirt leaves the breasts exposed for ease of access. I wish it was warm enough and attitudes were normal enough that this was possible in the U.S. and Canada.

there are some other fantastic pics in the artist's portfolio, I only looked through the one called "african tribes"

here's one example that does show nursing babies

Isn't it amazing how mothering and mothering instincts carry over ethnic, culture, regional, and all other types of differences? It's beautiful. It makes me want to write an impromptu poem, but I have no words.

On the surface, I have nothing in common w/ those women, but breastfeeding is so universal, I felt an instant connection w/ them. That's powerful.

Me,too. That looks so convenient. Unfortunately, where I live people will give women looks just for having headlights forget about going topless.

Wow. She looks so....powerfully maternal. A mom warrior. Something like that. Beautiful and striking at the same time.

Thanks for sharing.

Exactly...

First impression: Busy, strong, focused woman, carrying on her day. Baby relaxed, comfortable, right at the source - never needs to ask...maybe just root a little and find the breast, or mama's hand will boost his head into place without even stopping to think about it.

I skimmed the other posts - someone said something about feeling a connection with the mother because of the shared experience of breastfeeding - I felt that too.

I love that picture. Right it way it made me think how nice it is to have a sleeping cuddle-bug baby snuggled up against bare skin. I love how the mother looks so matter of fact and calm, ready to get on with her day.

Well, in some tribes motherhood is considered equivalent to being a warrior.

That is a beautiful picture. It looks like the posterchild for the normalcy of breastfeeding.

Such great pictures. It makes me sad that here in a "civilized" society, we actually need laws to protect something so natural.

Thank you for sharing. I love the photos! This one shows the universal nature of the experience, IMO. There's the toddler, nursing, looking at the photographer out of the corner of her/his eye (curious, but not wanting to stop nursing), and playing with her/his foot. So typical of a nursling!

Looks like women doing their job!

Kind of the impression, don't mess with me, my babe, or I'll kill ya!

But we do have something in common...looks like my youngest little man hanging on for his *noo noo*....

Great photos!

Beautiful photos. But my question is how do they not go around all day squirting people, I can barely get out of the shower without getting a milk bath.
