If she's a girly-girl, definitely Sally. But my 17 month old dd is still at the stage where big and bright is better. So, I guess it depends on the tot--hope she feels better soon!

I say Sally. At that age my girls would have loved Sally for two reasons. They loved fairies and they liked to dress/undress their toys.

At 20 months I would do the alien. DD couldn't care less about dolls at that age.

My 18 month old daughter is all about babies. She wouldn't know what to do with the alien, but she'd be the mommy to the baby, which might make her feel better.

Or, if you don't know what to do with a Sally you happen to make, you could send it to my house for DD.
