Found a frugal solution for decorating our wall

I've been struggling for months with the fact that the wall behind our couch is a big blank abyss. We are putting our house on the market before long and I simply have to find something attractive to hang there. I haven't seen anything used that I like at all. In desperation I did purchase a (discounted, cheap) new 10x20 gold frame with slots for 4x6s...I figured something was better than nothing.

But then I figured out that I can get a 10x20 poster print of any digital photo made for under $15. Perfect! We have a lovely view out our front windows, and I've been photographing it thinking I would put together an album of sunrises and moonrises and every season for prospective buyers when we show the house.

Wanna help me choose a pic for over my couch? Which one do you think would be best, and why?

Our sofa and big chair are both freecycle/thrift shop finds; one is rose and olive and plum, the other is cream and rose and green and gold. Our carpet is beige (but we're planning to put in a dark-ish floor, maybe cherry) and the other art on the walls is black and white, Ansel Adams. The walls are currently white but we need to paint them so I'm open to advice there. The room doesn't get much direct sun but it's not terribly dark either. The wall that needs art is pretty dark though.

I'm so happy to have found a (relatively) cheap solution to the often expensive question of wall art!

Also a long time ago I collected a bunch of gold photo frames but never got around to filling them with photos. I think I might fill them and group them around this big one. Like Cindy says, "Shop at Home First!" I think that's been my frugal motto lately, and I love it.

Feedback, anyone?

Stretching fabric on a frame is also another inexpensive way to cover a large space.Especially if you use a cool thrifted sheet or something you already have. You can buy pretty big canvas stretchers for a little money or try to find a really big frame to use.

Great pictures! I like the first and the last pictures the best. I'd pick the one that goes with the room colors the most. Good luck!

What a good motto. I don't know who Cindy is, but I like the quote.
