Mom kicked out of salon for breastfeeding

It really burns me that these employees (in all of these type situations) take it upon THEMSELVES to decide what is acceptable and what is not. :

How rude!!! :

It doesn't sound like this incident calls for a nurse in, but if there is one, we'll be there!

Whoa--mid-cut/style? The woman was going to nurse under the smock. She could've been juggling under there and nobody would know had she not said anything. I really hope corporate is having words with the stylist.

I agree... Just admitting that the employee isn't following their company policy to me is sort of a cop out. I wish they'd say that they are going to take disciplinary action or something.

Not only did the hairstylist violate her company's policy by asking Nair to leave; she also violated state statute which says that wherever a woman is authorized to be, she's authorized to breastfeed.

"We welcome mothers and children," said Regis spokeswoman Susan Evans in a statement. "We do not have a policy against breastfeeding. This employee acted incorrectly."

Am I bad for finding it funny that the woman's name is Nair and this happened in a hair salon? Nair-hair removal. . .Ok I'm a big dork.

omg! this was my salon when i lived there. i got my hair done their (or a diff salon in the same mall) so someone else could watch the baby(ies) at the play area. i have nursed there many times.

how weird that this happened somewhere i have nursed alot right before having my hair done (to top off the tank).

No, and it actually confused me from just the quote....

Anyway, I wonder if she's going to get free haircuts for a year? LOL

I can't count how many times I have breastfed in the hair-chair. How else can I get my hair done?

I hope the stylist gets a corporate spanking...

The stylist should be dismissed for blatant discrimination.
