100% wool?

Hi,

I was de-cluttering and found a few 100% wool blazers from DH's dad. It says to dry clean only but i am not going to dry clean them since i want to make diaper covers.

questions, how do i felt them? they are scratchy and hard, they seem really thick too since its a blazer. do i need to know anything special on how to sew them? do they fray? i've never worked with wool before.

thanks

Well, if they are stiff or scratchy, you might not wantto make diaper covers from it. Not very pleasant for baby Blazers are usually lined, so it will be a little more work, and they are often made from wool tweed, which will fray.

I recommend sweaters (either 100% wool or wool/acrylic blends) or skirts/dresses/shirts as possible recycled wool sources. They aren't as stiff or scratchy (usually!) as the kind of wool used for outerwear
