I did a search for this movie and didnt find it. So I am hoping that there isnt one already

Has anyone seen this movie yet? If so what did you think about it? I dont mind spoilers so go for it

I liked the movie, but it wasn't what I expected. I expected it to be more historically correct. I did really love the costumes and the hair.

I'd give it a B+. It was entertaining and worth the money, but not *amazing*.

Just from the previews I knew it wasn't going to be historically correct but that was fine with me since I wasn't there for a historically documentary but a cool action flick. That said the critics tore it apart (some based on the historical misrepresentation) but I thought it was a good movie. I'd also give it a B, I liked it.

At 10,000B.C. do we even know enough to get historical accuracy? Even for relatively recent eras like 1450 there's all kinds of debates about what people actually wore, ate, discussed.

Unless you mean like someone had a crossbow or something.

Guess you have a point there.

Prehistoric mammoths were roaming around with people, saber tooth tigers that kind of thing. I liked the way all the cultures and creatures were together add that with the pyramids and man gods gives it a hmm cool to me.

Based on the previews I think I will really like it. I knew when I saw how big the saber toothed tiger was that it wasnt going to be realistic but being a fan of good action fiction that dosnt bother me. I like seeing things that are not real especially with the new computer animations they are awsome.

Don't know about the tiger, but humans and mammoths were around at the same time:

Ah, further reading says the smilodons were around at that time too.

And the thing is, they should be smaller than modern tigers, but then shouldn't the people be smaller too? The one picture I could find from the movie seems to show an animal that is about as high at the shoulder as a man's chest, which isn't *that* far off from the hip-high level you'd expect.

See this is where it gets confusing. I was taught(and mine you it was a very very long time ago) that there are various different kinds of mammoths and that the "first" wooly mammoths were before man and that the mammoth from man's time was an earlier evolved version but hey it was a long long time ago and I haven't exactly made it a point to read any recent(umm say last 15 years or so) thing about it. Who knows maybe my memory is just shotty anyway. And I swear one of the reviews I read bought it up, lol.

The tiger in the tiger in the movie is HUGE much much larger than the size or a "modern" day tiger if that helps.
It was still a good movie no matter the historical facts or lack of,. cool action flick.

I want to see this one. It's not my type of movie but the special effects looked so AWESOME when I saw the trailer at the theater.

My dh and I saw the movie this weekend. I agree with the PP's--it's not historically accurate, but it's a good escapist movie. But then, I *never* expect movies to be historically accurate anyway.

I just saw this. And this is probably a dumb question but WTF were those crazy carniverous birds?

Not a dumb question I was wondering the same. Pre-historic ostriches?
