I am making a pare of these... using things pat. ~~> http://www.cafepress.com/thatskindacool/864331... I am making them for a newborn who has yet to come, 37w6d. I have the sleeves cut off the sweeter, but I do not know how far down to make crotch. I would use newborn pants from my DS.... but I cant find any. How far down do you think I should make them?

I just love making these! I just made a couple pairs for 19mo ds last week. For him the cut was about 10 inches (leaving enough fabric to make an elastic waistband). For a newborn, I think you'd probably be safe with 5-6 inches. You could also figure it out if you know the rise of your newborn diapers...just halve it to get the number you need. Better to make the crotch too long than too short.

Have fun!

O my goodness... is 5 or 6 leaving from for waistband or should I leave yet another inch making is 6 or 7 for that? It is being used with a few different diapers I have, fitteds, pre-folds, flats, ext. and even if it was just one type I would not know were to start about find the rise. Merrr. You are right though too long is better then too short!

Thanks for all the help!
