Hi, my ds is my 1st and 1 mo. We're using shields for my flat nipples, but it has been no problem (good supply, great weight gain so far).
What has been challenging was that I got plugged ducts on my right side at 3 weeks (just as ds had to go to the hospital for 3 days too! he's fine now, btw). While at the hospital, I treated the plugged ducts as the lc and nurses recommended (heat, massage, extra pumping to clear it out) and it cleared up just fine. But with all the extra pumping, my supply went into overdrive on that side and still hasn't balanced out. I'm unsure how to fix this, as if I only use the right side to feed it doesn't get cleared out unless I pump, esp. in the morning. But that keeps the oversupply issue going. If I don't pump or use it as much, I'm concerned that the milk left in there will plug the ducts and I will be back where I started again. Any ideas?
